Choosing Your TEAM

So you’ve decided you are really ready to find your dream home. You are looking at houses online and you’re ready to make that jump to see homes in person.  Who do you call?  And what role does a Realtor(R) play?

What should you be looking for in a Realtor(R) or lender? How do you know if you’ve found the right person to help you?

The most important characteristic that you should be looking for in your agent (and lender), is someone who is going to take the time to really educate you on your choices and your ability to buy in today’s market.

As Dave Ramsey, the financial guru, advises:

“When getting help with money, whether it’s insurance, real estate or investments, you should always look for someone with the heart of a teacher, not the heart of a salesman.”

Ask your friends and family for recommendations of professionals that they have used in the past and have had good experiences with. Do your research.

Look for members of your team to be honest and trustworthy, after all, you will be trusting them with helping you make one of the biggest financial decisions of your life.

And whether this is your first or fifth time buying a home, you want to make sure that you have an agent who is going to have the tough conversations with you, too, not just the easy ones. If your offer isn’t accepted by the seller, or they think that there may be something wrong with the home that you’re falling in love with, you would rather know what they think than make a costly mistake.

In this world of Google searches, where it seems like all of the answers are just a mouse-click away, you need an agent who is not only going to educate you, but provide you with the information that you need to know- before you even know you need it.

Agents are no longer the key-keepers of homes, chauffeurs for home tours, or data/information sheet providers.  Instead, we are trusted advisers and strategic partners.  I am investing in your family’s future.

You need someone who isn’t focused on the transaction itself, but is instead focused on helping you.

Sure, this is my living and it’s how I support my family… but you can ask any of my clients- especially those who still have not bought (or listed) their home- the timing needs to be right, your motivation needs to be right, and we need to ensure  you are making the right decision.

Maybe now isn’t the best time for you to sell- and I will tell you that!

Maybe your dream home needs to still be a dream for a little while longer, and we can get you into a home that’s more of a starter or temporary home, allowing you to build equity and savings to get your DREAM home next time!

I’m in this for the long term.  My goal with every client is to make sure that they understand the process, understand the impact of each step, understand the paperwork being signed, are COMFORTABLE with the process and I try to do everything I can to make it as stress-free as possible.  As a result, a lot of my business is repeat business and referrals and I love that!  There’s no better compliment than getting a call from a stranger telling me that they got my name and number from one of my past clients, and that client raved about my service!
